Is it just us, or does every summer seem to get busier and busier? This August has been a whirlwind considering that Lori Jolin Design, LLC. just picked up a entire home design job in Middleton. This is a brand new project that is keeping us on our toes. Not only that, but we are working on three other projects as well that include bathrooms, kitchens, fireplaces, and everything in between!

For one of the kitchen projects we are currently working on, we are looking to get creative and try to work with new materials to create the ultimate counter top. Not to give it all away, but it includes using clear acrylic over a range of fun materials and textures to create a counter that looks more like an art piece rather than a kitchen basic. Photos to come!

  1. Being creative some times can be exhausting! I have 10 projects going and all of them require choosing tile and coming up with something spectacular! I am working on a kitchen that has fairly traditional white cabinets being installed. As an award winning designer & contractor, I pride myself on my unusual tile layouts.
My client is from India and in talking, I discovered their national bird is the Peacock. Well, that is all the information I needed to get my little creative brain going! I am laminating a picture of a peacock on aluminum with full feathers extended . That will go behind the stove. I also found a fantastic photo of just the peacock feathers. That will go behind the wet bar. Then I found some wonderful glass tile that will butt up to each side..Once finished, I will add the photo's...stay tuned!!!
